He sounded genuinely concerned when he asked if I was ok.
"Dad, everything is fine," I explained, (Dads have a way of making their daughters explain.) "I am just realizing certain things and taking a look at my life, looking at what I have, want and where I am."
"Very early, I knew that the only object in life was to grow."

Birthdays are a time for reflection. Why wait until New Year's Eve?(unless your birthday does happen to fall on or around that time!) Now is the time to make resolutions, set real goals for myself personally and professionally.
I love lists, and went researching (yep, I can be a nerd!) and found this post on a blog called "Hello Beautiful." I wanted to repost.
She says: When you celebrate your birthday, you’re celebrating a year’s worth of new experiences, trials, tribulations, and excitement. What are some important things to reflect upon as you reach a new age?
Tonight, whether I am out with a few close BFFs of mine, or just enjoying a romantic (probably contemplative) evening with my hubs, I will most likely at some point jot down some answer these five things in my journal
Here are Five Things to reflect on, on your birthday
1. What have been the high point and low points of the past year?
A lot of times, as humans we just focus on the negative or the positive, but life isn’t ever simply black or white.
2. Where has the time gone? What have you spent most of your time doing?
Especially when you’re starting a new decade or a significant year, it’s a wake-up call when you realize how much time has passed. You always have time to change your priorities, however.
3. What kind of maturity or experience have you gained throughout the year?
Think of anything you’ve been doing differently or what events have occurred in your life this past year. Has your advancement in age changed you?
4. Make sure you’re living up to your potential.
Do you find what you’ve been doing up until this point as beneficial or something that works for you? Do you have long term plans as well as short term goals?
5. How does another year sound?
Your life can only be lived from one set of eyes (yours) and your view of your own life is unique.

Have you tried commenting on this blog and not been able to? I am concerned at the usability of blogger and want to make this an easy forum for you to comment on if you'd like, so as another idea to make changes we may switch our Something to Believe In Blog over to wordpress.com as any wordpress blogs seem to be more inviting to comments.
Before we make the switch, we will let you know!
